Traveling to the ceremony and reception should be as comfortable as possible. This means, someone else should be behind the wheel - especially if you're going to be donning your gown at home.

You might consider a limousine service on your wedding day. While this might seem extravagant, it is a surprisingly affordable luxury -- even an appropriate extravagance when you consider the miles of lace you will be wearing. If you'll be putting on your wedding dress at the ceremony site, you still need a comfortable way to get to the reception.

A limousine can be used both before and/or after the ceremony. You and your new husband (and possibly the best man and maid/matron of honor) could be whisked away to the reception in the limousine.

There are also several romantic alternatives to a limousine service. For example, renting an antique car or hiring a horse and carriage. Check out several transportation company candidates before settling on one -- many offer great deals if you search hard enough.

A developing trend is to keep the whole wedding party together. a limo could take you and your attendants to the ceremony site rather than each using a separate car. You might consider renting a trolley (check the Yellow Pages for any local companies) or a mini-bus (available through many limousine services). This would allow the entire wedding party to arrive at the ceremony and reception together, and have a private party on the way.

Whether it's in a Rolls Royce, a horse-drawn carriage or on a motorcycle, getting to and from your wedding ceremony and reception in style and on time is essential to a stress- free wedding day.

Beyond hiring transportation for yourself and the wedding party, you may want to consider paying for valet parking for your guests. Many hotels offer this service, which you can often secure at a reduced rate. If this service is not part of your ceremony or reception package, consider hiring parking attendants. This is a particularly thoughtful gesture if your ceremony is someplace where street parking is difficult.
